The Washington Capitals will get some representation in the 2026 Winter Olympics. On Wednesday, Tom Wilson and Logan Thompson were named to Team Canada’s Olympic roster.
Both players were left off of Team Canada’s roster for last year’s Four Nations Tournament. But now they will get to represent their country in Milan Cortina this February.
In 38 games this season, Wilson leads the Capitals with 37 points, including 19 goals and 18 assists. He also moved from 12th to sixth on the Capitals’ all-time goals list. Along with goal-scoring, Wilson continues to show his physicality with 101 hits in 2025-26.
Thompson has been playing like a surefire Vezina Trophy candidate this season. He ranks first in games played among Canadian goaltenders and ranks third with a .915 save percentage.
One other Capitals player that earned consideration for Team Canada was Jakob Chychrun. Unfortunately, he did not make the official roster.
