NHL: Preseason-Washington Capitals at Boston Bruins

The Washington Capitals have re-signed forward Bogdan Trineyev to a two-year, $1.8 million contract extension. The first year of the contract will be two-way ($850,000/$225,000), while the second year will be one-way ($950,000).

Trineyev, 23, has played in two games with the Capitals this season, making his NHL debut on Dec. 13. The young forward has also recorded 20 points (9 goals, 11 assists) in 30 games with Hershey. Right now, the Russian ranks third on the Bears in goals and plus-minus (+8), fourth in points, and fifth in shots (64).

Trineyev previously registered 22 points (14 goals, 8 assists) with Hershey last season. He ranked tied for first on the Bears in shorthanded goals (1), third in plus-minus (+13), fifth in shots (109), and sixth in goals. The forward also led Hershey with five goals and seven points in eight Calder Cup Playoff games.

Trineyev was selected in the fourth round (117th overall) by the Capitals in the 2020 NHL Draft. Throughout his career, the Russian forward has recorded 58 points (32 goals, 26 assists) and a +33 plus-minus in 157 games for Hershey.
