The Washington Capitals (2-1-0) are coming off a back-to-back road sweep over the New York Islanders and Rangers. They are set to begin a four-game homestand on Tuesday against the Tampa Bay Lightning (1-2-0) at Capital One Arena.

The puck drops at 7:00 p.m.

After tonight’s tilt with the Bolts, Washington is set to face three Western Conference foes – Minnesota, Vancouver, and Seattle – in the homestand. The next two four-game homestands for the Caps will be in November and March.

Logan Thompson is set for his third game in net this season. This past Saturday, Thompson helped Washington beat the Isles 4-2 and stopped 34 of 46 shots.

After Thompson’s victory, Charlie Lindgren notched his 10th career shutout by stopping all 35 shots in the Capitals’ 1-0 victory over the Rangers.

Through three games, Washington has only given up one goal on the 5-on-5. That tally came on opening night, courtesy of the Boston Bruins’ David Pastrnak. Since then, the Capitals have given up three power-play goals and an empty-netter.

One notable player missing from Tuesday’s lineup is Pierre-Luc Dubois, due to a lower-body injury from this past Sunday. Thankfully, he is only considered day-to-day, according to head coach Spencer Carbery.

Meanwhile, the Lightning are on their second night on a set of road back-to-backs. Yesterday afternoon, Tampa Bay defeated the Bruins in Boston 4-3 for their first win of the season. Anthony Cirelli scored two goals for the Bolts.
