Artemi Panarin’s time on Broadway is all but finished. And although it’s tough to see a reality where the New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers connect on a deal, Panarin actually might be a good fit for the Devils.

The fine folks at The Athletic took a look at his fit in New Jersey and the other 30 teams to measure Panarin’s fit across the league. Thought it was an interesting read, so I’m passing it along in the links below.

Also in the links, the latest on Luke Hughes.

Elsewhere, the reason for New York’s retool, Colorado kicks tires on ex-forward, and Seth Jones’ injury replacement for Team USA.

NHL Trade Talk, News & National Hockey Now

Forever Blueshirts: Whether you believe the verbiage is different or not is irrelevant. Chris Drury says the New York Rangers are going through a retool, not a rebuild. And there are several reasons why.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Pittsburgh Penguins president of hockey operations/general manager Kyle Dubas, who has stocked his club with players who apparently just needed a fresh start or a new challenge, said Wednesday that his latest trade fit the same mold. Here’s why Dubas acquired Ilya Soloyov.

Colorado Hockey Now: I know I’ve been banging the Nazem Kadri to New Jersey drum, but the Colorado Avalanche have expressed legitimate interest in reacquiring their former center.

Florida Hockey Now: You have to feel for Seth Jones. The Florida Panthers defenseman got the call that he was heading to Milan as part of Team USA in the 2026 Winter Olympics. However, the injury he sustained will see him sidelined, as the USA named their replacement.
