Legendary quarterback Tom Brady finally broke his silence following reports this past weekend that the seven-time Super Bowl champion champion was set to retire after 22 seasons in the NFL.
Brady took to his weekly podcast, “Let’s Go,” on Monday to talk about a potential retirement after his Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Playoffs.
In the process, Brady stopped well short of announcing his retirement. He also talked about those who reported this past Saturday that the quarterback had decided to retire.
“We’re in such an era of information and people want to be in front of the news often,” Brady said. “I totally understand that. I understand that’s the environment we’re in. I think for me, it’s just literally day to day with me.”
That’s definitely one way to push back against the idea that he is set to retire.
In terms of a potential retirement, Tom Brady also noted that he’s still going through the process.
“I’m still going through the process,” the future Hall of Famer said. “When the time is right, I’ll be ready to make a decision.”

What is going on with Tom Brady?
There’s a thought process out there that includes Brady wanting to be able to announce his retirement on his own terms rather than it being reported through the media.
With that said, the quarterback’s head coach and father pushed back against the idea that Brady had made a decision when it was initially reported on Saturday. Brady’s agent did, too.
“I understand the advance speculation about Tom’s future. Without getting into the accuracy or inaccuracy of what’s being reported, Tom will be the only person to express his plans with complete accuracy. He knows the realities of the football business and planning calendar as well as anybody, so that should be soon.”

Brady, 44, is coming off yet another banner season that saw him lead the NFL in completions (485), attempts (719), passing yards (5,316) and passing touchdowns (43).
Obviously, he can still play at a high level.
For the legendary quarterback, it’s more about his family and what they want. That’s what led to speculation in the first place.
