
A frightening situation unfolded Monday at a Midtown Manhattan building that houses NFL headquarters, as police responded to an active shooter. According to the New York Post, an off-duty police officer was among five people killed and six others were injured before the gunman turned the weapon on himself.
The suspect — identified by The Post as Shane Tamura — was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on the 33rd floor.
The shooting took place at 345 Park Avenue, which houses both the NFL and financial firm Blackstone. The NFL’s offices are located on the building’s fifth floor. According to league reporter Ari Meirov, NFL employees were told to shelter in place.

No motive for the deadly shooting has been disclosed.
