The Tennessee Titans might be out of playoff contention with only one game remaining, but that doesn’t mean head coach Mike Vrabel is any less interested in winning Sunday.

During his weekly press conference Tuesday, Mike Vrabel gave a terse response to a reporter who questioned him about losing.

“It f—– sucks,” said Vrabel, in response to Tennessean columnist Gentry Estes. “Losing. Awful. That’s why I want to win.”

The Titans (5-11) are closing out their second straight losing season under Vrabel, the worst during his six-year tenure, and have lost three straight games going into Sunday’s season finale against Jacksonville.

In their three losses, the Titans have scored a total of 36 points, with the worst offensive performance coming last Sunday in a 26-3 loss to Houston.

Rookie quarterback Will Levis left the game with a foot injury, and his status for Sunday is questionable. Veteran Ryan Tannehill will start in his place if Levis is unable to go.

Tennessee Titans won’t draft another QB

If the season ended today, the Titans would have the second-worst record in the AFC and would have the No. 7 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

But it’s highly doubtful Tennessee would target one of the top quarterback prospects after drafting Levis in the second round this past April and third-stringer Malik Willis in the third round in 2022.

The Titans are now 53-45 under Vrabel, a three-time Super Bowl champion as a linebacker for the New England Patriots, but they haven’t made the playoffs since having a 12-5 record in 2021.
