With the usually reliable Buffalo Bills offense sputtering in recent weeks, the unit hit the panic button and called a players-only meeting this week to air grievances and try to fix their recent issues.

After a surprising Week 1 loss to a New York Jets team without starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Buffalo Bills, and their offense quickly found their groove and looked like the team that experts expected in 2023. They won three straight and scored 37 or more in each game.

Their offense was one of the best in the league and had some around the league believing the team could finally reach their potential and get back to the Super Bowl this season. However, things have changed fast since that 3-1 start. They have lost three of their last five, including a stunning defeat to the New England Patriots, and they barely beat the New York Giants in Week 6.

While the defense certainly deserves some blame for their disappointing results of late, they are also dealing with several major injuries to top players. The offense, on the other hand, does not have many excuses. The run game is non-existent and Josh Allen’s 11 turnovers after nine games have been a major influence in their losses.

The offense is a shell of the dominant force it was earlier in the season, and it was something members of the unit felt needed to be addressed this week. On Thursday, veteran running back and first-time Bill Latavius Murray admitted that he pushed the panic button and called for a rare players-only meeting.

“We’re about halfway through the year and it was on my mind, coming off a game where I just feel like, we can beat anybody. A lot of times, it’s getting redundant, it’s us beating ourselves,” he told reporters. “So how can we avoid that? What can we do possibly differently during the week, whatever. How can we avoid that? How can we find something that’s different amongst us so we get a different result.”

The Bills will look to bounce back from a tough loss to the Bengals last week in a Monday Night Football clash against the Denver Broncos in Week 10.
