TV execs suggest NFL dreams of landing Taylor Swift for Super Bowl halftime show

The NFL’s newfound infatuation with Taylor Swift isn’t going away any time soon, even if Travis Kelce may now prefer otherwise. From making her part of their promotions on the official NFL’s social media page on X to frequently showing Swift when attending Kansas City Chiefs games, and even major networks offering to push her upcoming movie for free, the league’s connection to Swift cannot be ignored.

Aside from rumors suggesting Swift may be dating the Chiefs’ star tight end thanks to being seen with Kelce and even hanging out with his mom Donna at Arrowhead Stadium and, most recently, MetLife Stadium, what’s the sudden reason for the NFL’s ties to the music icon?

Some, namely TV executives, suggest the NFL dreams of a scenario where they can convince Swift to perform during one of their upcoming Super Bowl halftime shows, for which she’s yet to make an appearance.

But chances are it won’t be in February during Super Bowl XLVIII, where the league has already secured Usher as the headlining act.

However, it’s never too early to start preparing for the future, and it’s possible the NFL is already trying to land Swift for the Super Bowl in 2025. The odds of doing so have increased for several reasons.

Obviously, getting Swift to attend multiple football games, where the reception has been overwhelmingly positive, can’t hurt. But now that the Super Bowl halftime show has changed sponsors from Pepsi to Apple Music, the chances of the NFL working with Swift in the future have increased significantly thanks to her current ties to Apple, having done several commercials with the tech company.

Will the NFL be able to get Swift to perform during the Super Bowl? Only time will tell, and who knows, maybe Kelce will even be there too, trying to get another Super Bowl ring on his finger.
