Travis Kelce wants Taylor Swift coverage reduced during Kansas City Chiefs games

Have you heard about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce? We’d be amazed if you hadn’t. Even Kelce is starting to get sick of all the additional coverage stemming from the music icon’s ties to the All-Pro Chiefs tight end.

Now the storylines are about whether Swift will show up to the next Chiefs game, as she did during Week 4’s win over the New York Jets, despite the game being at MetLife Stadium. But it’s not just that. Cameras can’t seem to resist panning to the family suite Swift hangs out in alongside Kelce’s mom, Donna.

While Kelce sought out a chance to get to know Swift, he likely didn’t expect this much drama surrounding the budding friendship.

On Tuesday, Kelce spoke about his links to Swift, and he admitted that he’d prefer TV networks started to tone it down a bit with their overblown coverage of the situation.

“I think it’s fun when they show who all is at the game. I think it brings a little bit more to the atmosphere, it brings a little bit more to what you’re watching. But at the same time, I think—they’re overdoing it a little bit, for sure. Especially my situation. I think they’re just trying to have fun with it.”

The NFL’s coverage of Swift has reached pandemonium, with the league’s official X social media page leaning into the newfound popularity. But from the sound of Kelce’s comments, he’d much prefer to keep the focus on football.

For her part, Swift seems to be having a blast in the booth, and it’s not surprising to see cameras and various media outlets trying to capture the moment too. Swift is one of the most popular people in the world. What did Kelce expect? With TV ratings soaring thanks to Swift’s presence, chances are, things won’t be changing any time soon if she continues to make weekly appearances.
