NFL rumor season is alive and well with less than two weeks remaining until the Nov. 3 trade deadline and we got a shocker on Friday with Antonio Brown reportedly signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Antonio Brown is slated to come of the NFL suspended list after Week 8 following a whole host of off-field issues surrounding the star pass catcher. As most of you already know, Brown played in just one game as a member of the New England Patriots last season. That came after he was released by the then-Oakland Raiders following a brief offseason stint with the team.

Brown, 32, was once one of the better receivers in the NFL before signs of his demise popped up during the latter stages of his nine-year tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rumors regarding a rift between Brown and then-teammate Ben Roethlisberger gave in to the Steelers trading away the seven-time Pro Bowl receiver.

NFL rumors: Seattle Seahawks for Antonio Brown

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Seahawks were now in line to make a push for Brown. That lines up with previous rumors relating to Seattle’s interest in the enigmatic pass catcher. The Seahawks have not in the past steered clear of controversial personalities. It has been the team’s MO under head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider. Josh Gordon comes to mind first.

On the field, Brown would be a perfect fit with leading NFL MVP candidate Russell Wilson. Teaming him up with stud second-year receiver D.K. Metcalf and an underrated Tyler Lockett would make Seattle’s offense almost unstoppable. Of all the NFL teams rumored to be interested in Antonio Brown, Seattle makes the most sense.

NFL rumors: Kansas City Chiefs get deeper with Antonio Brown

Fresh off signing Brown’s former teammate with the Steelers, running back Le’Veon Bell, rumors will heat up that the defending champs might show interest in the receiver. Much like Seattle, the Chiefs have not avoided the drama that comes with adding highly-volatile individuals. Frank Clark, Tyreek Hill and Mr. Bell himself are three recent examples.

If Brown really wants to get back into the NFL’s good graces, succeeding under respected head coach Andy Reid makes sense. Working with Patrick Mahomes could also enable him to break out big time out of the gate. On a related note, the injury to Sammy Watkins has Kansas City in need of a receiver.

NFL rumors: Baltimore Ravens find WR1 in Antonio Brown

Reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson had in the past made a push for Baltimore to sign Antonio Brown. The receiver also worked out with Jackson and his cousin on the Ravens, Marquise Brown, during the offseason. Meanwhile, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh would not completely shut down this rumor.

Just imagine the two Browns working together with Jackson tossing them the rock. Baltimore is already averaging 30 points per game on the season. It is a legit Super Bowl contender. Rumors of this ilk should start to heat up in the coming weeks.

NFL rumors: Green Bay Packers help offense with Antonio Brown

Aaron Rodgers and Antonio Brown doing damage in Wisconsin. The off-field fit might not make too much sense. But on the field, rumors linking Brown to Green Bay would make a ton of sense. Here’s a dude who averaged 103 receptions for nearly 1,400 yards from 2011-18. Brown working his magic with stud receiver Davante Adams would add another layer to this.

Despite their Week 6 loss to Tampa Bay, the Packers remain co-favorites with Seattle to come out of the NFC. Rodgers is playing at an MVP level. The team has an elite back in Aaron Jones. The idea of adding Antonio Brown to the mix might be too hard for general manager Brian Gutekunst to pass up on.

NFL rumors: Philadelphia Eagles sign Antonio Brown

DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery have been dealing with injuries throughout the 2020 NFL season. Carson Wentz (eight touchdowns, nine interceptions) is struggling big time for the 1-4-1 Eagles. Meanwhile, rumors around the NFL water cooler tell us a story of a head coach in Doug Pederson who could be on the hot seat.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Antonio Brown would immediately become the Eagles’ best receiver, especially with Zach Ertz sidelined to injury. There’s absolutely no reason to believe that rumors won’t pick up in this regard moving forward in the NFL season.
