With zero quarterbacks on the roster for the 2025 NFL season, the New York Giants’ options are limitless. Rumors have suggested they could secure a veteran before the 2025 NFL Draft kicks off, yet even if they add in free agency, the Giants will likely want a young developmental option on the roster too.
However, the Giants do boast the third overall pick in the first round, and there’s reportedly a quarterback they’re zeroing in on.

New York Giants focused on drafting Shedeur Sanders?

The New York Giants are behind two other teams that need quarterbacks in a draft class that many believe only features two QBs worthy of a first-round selection. There’s no consensus top prospect in the class, but University of Miami quarterback Cam Ward is a popular pick to land with the Tennessee Titans at No. 1
University of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders is the other quarterback widely expected to be selected in the first round, and according to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, multiple NFL insiders believe the Giants are big fans of Deion Sanders’ son.
“Multiple league insiders are convinced the Giants have their sights on Sanders, but that would not necessarily keep the team from targeting a more experienced option at the position. The Giants had Super Bowl-winning quarterback Kurt Warner as their starter when they drafted Eli Manning with the No. 1 pick.”

While the Giants may be eyeing Sanders, there are still two teams picking ahead of them. With teams like the Las Vegas Raiders (No. 6 pick), New York Jets (No. 7 pick) and Pittsburgh Steelers (No. 21 pick) also needing to secure a starting QB this offseason, the Giants could face stiff competition in pursuit of one of their top draft targets.
