Olivia “Livvy” Dunne, a former LSU gymnast and non-stop social media sensation, says she was denied the opportunity to purchase a historic New York City apartment once owned by baseball legend Babe Ruth.

The three-bedroom co-op, located on the Upper West Side, was listed for $1.59 million.

Dunne, whom the New York Post has previously described as a “$9.5 million NIL legend,” alongside her boyfriend, Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, planned to pay for the apartment in cash

But, just days before the deal was set to go through, the folks in the building decided they disapproved.

“I get a call. The co-op board denied me,” Dunne said in a social media video. “Pretty much the people in the building voted to not have me live there, which is fine.”

Livvy Dunne Doesn’t Often Get Rejections, But She Did This Time

Obviously, it’s not fine. Otherwise, there isn’t a video plastered on social media of Livvy Dunne ranting about the failed purchase.

The rejection by the co-op board was not due to financial issues, she explained, as the couple’s background check cleared, but rather a vote by the building’s residents against her residency. Dunne indicated she had “no clue” why they were rejected.

“Honestly, it wasn’t financial. It could have been, for all I know, they could have been Alabama fans and I went to LSU,” Dunne joked, according to the Post.

“Maybe they didn’t want a public figure living there, but I was literally supposed to get the keys, and that week they denied me.”

How close were they to buying Babe Ruth’s home? Dunne and Skenes had already hired an interior designer.

“It got to the point where the realtor was so confident, Paul and I went, I got an interior designer because I didn’t want to bring my college furniture to Babe Ruth’s apartment, that would be like, criminal,” Dunne said.

Livvy and the Babe

Babe Ruth, known as “the Great Bambino,” is celebrated as one of baseball’s greatest players, with 714 career home runs and seven World Series titles, won with both the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees.

His apartment, built in 1915, held significant historical value due to his living there from 1920 to 1940. There is a commemorative plaque outside the historic home honoring the baseball legend.

Skenes, who may be well on his way to becoming a legendary pitcher in MLB, recently pitched against the Detroit Tigers, where Livvy made news when the opposing team’s mascot tried hitting on her.

Last month, Dunne stunned audiences at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show in Miami by performing a flawless split.
