Paws, the Detroit Tigers‘ mascot since 1995, tried getting flirty with former LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne. And Livvy gave it right back with a brutal roast of her own.
Paws made his move during a game between the Tigers and the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. It just so happened that Livvy’s boyfriend, Paul Skenes, was on the mound for the second game of a doubleheader.
The two have been dating since the summer of 2023.
The Tigers’ mascot held up a sign behind home plate for Skenes to see while he was trying to shut down a solid Detroit lineup.
The sign read, “Sup Livvy Dunne,” complete with a plethora of big red hearts.
Livvy Dunne Responds, Paws Dejected
Livvy Dunne, known for being a major social media influencer, quickly responded on X with a witty rejection. Turns out, Paws needs to keep his paws to himself.
“Sorryā¦ not my type of tiger,” she hilariously replied.
Her type of Tiger would, of course, be of the LSU variety. Dunne led the collegiate Tigers to the schoolās first NCAA Championship in 2024.
āIt was so exciting for not only our team but the whole university. And thatās a feeling that I want to feel again,ā she said of the ultimate winning experience. āIt was so special in the bond with the girls.ā
The standout performer would return for a fifth year of eligibility due to COVID rules, but Livvy suffered an avulsion fracture of her patella, which prematurely ended her season.
Skenes, meanwhile, pitched for LSU, making him Livvy’s kind of Tiger. The team won the 2023 College World Series, and Dunne’s beau was named the College World Series Most Outstanding Player.

The playful exchange between Livvy Dunne and the Tigers’ mascot went viral, with her response amassing over 1.2 million views. Fans and media praised Dunneās sharp comeback as well as Paws’ amusing efforts to throw Skenes off his game.
Skenes, unfazed by the mascotās antics, pitched six innings with nine strikeouts in the Piratesā 8-4 win over the Tigers.
Earlier this month, Livvy Dunne stunned audiences at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show in Miami by performing a flawless split.
Dunne recently revealed that she fears being stalked by groups of middle-aged men who harass her for autographs at airports, tracking her travel details despite her not sharing them publicly.
