Court filings reveal Michael Oher received significant proceeds from The Blind Side movie

Back in August, retired former NFL offensive lineman Michael Oher claimed the story told in The Blind Side movie wasn’t 100 percent true. Oher also indicated he never benefited from the movie in any way, with all proceeds of the film and his story going entirely to the Tuohy family.

Now, court filings have revealed a different story.

Court records actually show that the Tuohys paid Oher over $138,000 between 2007 and 2023. The Blind Side movie came out in 2009.

Oher previously sued the Tuohy family in August after reportedly learning he was never actually adopted, believing he was entered into a conservatorship at his expense instead. A month later, a judge ended Oher’s conservatorship.

Oher played five seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, and eight total seasons in the NFL, starting all 110 games he played. He made $34.5 million in his playing career, which wrapped up in 2017 with the Carolina Panthers.

Meanwhile, Oher’s case against the Tuohys is still ongoing. Oher and his representatives have not responded to requests for comments on the matter of payment.
