Despite being in just his second NFL season, most would agree, Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons is among the best defensive players in football already at the young age of 23. He’s already made two Pro Bowl teams, has been an All-Pro, and was named Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Once again, Parsons had a strong 2022-23 season, in which he tallied 13.5 sacks and three forced fumbles while playing a key role in the Cowboys’ fifth-ranked defense. He’s a big reason why Dan Quinn’s unit had so much success, helping Dallas reach the postseason for the second time in as many years.
While we’ve already been overwhelmingly impressed with Parsons’ play thus far, the former Penn State standout believes he can ramp up his efforts even further with the playoffs set to kick off this weekend.

If you were enamored with Parsons just based on what he’s done in his first two seasons, get ready because the Cowboys’ Pro Bowl linebacker says this is simply the beginning of his dominance.
With Dallas set to take on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, Parsons was asked about his mentality heading into the elimination stage.
“Honestly, I feel like as far as we go, these are going to be my best games. That’s just because I want it. Regular season is cool. You guys get all hyped up. But this is where legends are made.”

Clearly, Parsons isn’t ready to back down, now or any time soon.
It’s worth noting that Monday night’s game won’t be the first playoff appearance of Parsons’ young career. He racked up nine tackles, including a TFL, in last year’s 23-17 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wild Card round.
Parsons has faced Tampa Bay twice, and managed to bring down Brady twice during their Week 1 matchup earlier this season. Parsons also added five tackles while playing 62 snaps. Maybe his previous success is what’s providing the 6-foot-3 pass rusher with so much added confidence heading into what will be the second postseason start of his NFL career.
Either way, we’ll soon find out whether Parsons is ready for what he says will be his “best games.”
