With seven head coach vacancies around the NFL, franchises are focused on narrowing down their top candidates into a pool of finalists. For the Miami Dolphins, they already know what they want, it’s just about finding the right person for the job.

After spending three years with the defensive-minded Brian Flores, the Dolphins reportedly are ready to try the opposite. According to Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN, the Dolphins are targeting a head coach whose background specializes in the offensive side of the ball.

So far the Dolphins have been linked to a total of seven different head coach candidates.

Brian Daboll remains the favorite for Miami Dolphins HC job

Based on the list above, it would appear the finalists could come down to Daboll, Moore, Brown, or McDaniel. But it might not be that simple. Daboll is one of three final contenders to land the Giants head coach role, along with Leslie Frazier and Brian Flores.

Luckily, according to recent reports, Daboll is the early favorite to land the Miami Dolphins head coach gig, but they are still working toward a final decision.

Miami is bringing candidates in next week for what will be their second interview. Expected in that round are Daboll, Moore and McDaniel.

All three are popular candidates around the league and have extensive experience helping scheme up high-powered offenses capable of utilizing the Miami Dolphins’ best offensive players such as Jaylen Waddle. Most importantly, the next candidate will have to help Tua Tagovailoa take the next step in his development. With a strong defensive foundation already in place, it makes sense to focus on hiring a specialist to help the offense catch up, we’ll see who lands the job.
