Memphis Grizzlies’ Dillon Brooks gets 18th technical, likely to be suspended

Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks has been in the news for all the wrong reason recently. Just recently, he was fined $35,000 by the NBA for pushing a cameraman to the ground.

That came after Brooks was ejected for getting into it with rival Draymond Green during a game against the Golden State Warriors earlier in March.

Unfortunately for the Grizzlies, it’s looking like they won’t have Brooks on the court for Wednesday’s game against the Houston Rockets.

Brooks was handed a technical during Monday’s outing against the Dallas Mavericks for taunting the Mavericks’ bench after throwing down a dunk in the third quarter. This represents his 18th technical of the season. Unless the NBA rescinds it, Dillon Brooks is automatically suspended for one game. Check it out below.

It’s becoming pretty clear that Brooks is earning a reputation around the Association for being a hot head. His recent spat with another embattled figure in the aforementioned Green added another layer to that.

Whether the NBA opts to rescind this technical remains to be seen. But the Grizzlies certainly need Dillon Brooks to cool it with Ja Morant nearing a return after a lengthy absence and with Memphis tied for the second seed in the Western Conference.
