LIV Golf announced its foray into content creator partnerships with a new competition format this week.

Six YouTube creators will participate in Miami for a two-man scramble event on April 5.

Called “The Duels: Miami,” the competition will take place at Trump National Doral and air exclusively on YouTube.

All six creators will team up with a LIV Golf player in a nine-hole event featuring a $250,000 prize pool.

Here are the teams:

In addition, Mason Nutt, Andrew Santino, Joey Demare (Joey Cold Cuts), and Robby Berger (Bobby Fairways) will be commentating the action.

“At LIV Golf, we champion bold, new approaches to the game, and The Duels is a perfect example of how golf continues to evolve and engage fans,” LIV Golf Chief Marketing Officer Adam Harter said in a release. “We love what the creator community has done for this game and this event is a way to celebrate the creativity and passion that fuels the modern golf community while connecting them with the most exciting elite golfers on the planet.”

There are two interesting points to watch with these content creators taking part in this LIV Golf event.

The first is this comes directly after the PGA Tour unveiled their Creator Classic in an eight-hole stroke event before The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass. A handful of content creators, primarily from YouTube, competed on the Pete Dye course.

Most notably, Perez, the Bryan twins, and Horvat competed in the PGA Tour’s Creator Classic just a couple weeks ago. Horvat edged out George Bryan IV in a playoff on the infamous island green.

Additionally, Kwon won the first edition of the Creator Classic last August before the 2024 Tour Championship.

The other compelling angle involves George and Wesley Bryan, who run their popular Bryan Bros Golf YouTube channel.

Wesley Bryan isn’t just a content creator — he’s also a current PGA Tour member. Bryan, who won the 2017 RBC Heritage, currently has conditional status, meaning he finished between 126-150 in the FedEx Cup Fall standings.

As a result, he has played in three PGA Tour events this season. He missed the cut at The American Express and the Puerto Rico Open while tying for 25th at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Because of his conditional status, Bryan doesn’t automatically qualify for every PGA Tour event. He enters tournaments as an alternate when players withdraw or must play his way into fields through qualifiers — making his appearance in a LIV Golf event particularly noteworthy in golf’s increasingly fractured landscape.
