Kansas City Chiefs star L’Jarius Sneed reportedly drawing trade interest from multiple teams

Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed had the franchise tag placed on him earlier this month. The two-time defending Super Bowl champions then gave him permission to seek a trade.

With NFL free agency officially getting going on Wednesday, we have not heard a whole heck of a lot on Sneed’s status and what teams might be interested.

Until now.

NFL insider Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston is reporting that the Tennessee Titans are interested in Sneed. He also notes that other teams are involved. But did not name who they might be.

We have heard Sneed’s name linked to the Detroit Lions, too. Though, there doesn’t seem to be any substantive trade offers on the table for the Chiefs.

A recent report indicates that Kansas City can expect a second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft in return for the star cornerback. For what it’s worth, the Titans boast the 38th overall pick in the annual event.

Sneed, 27, was absolutely brilliant for the Chiefs a season ago. He yielded a 51.0% completion and 56.2 QB rating when targeted.

Sneed is currently set to play under the $19.8 million franchise tag in 2024. Though, any team acquiring him would be looking at signing the star cornerback to a contract extension.

As for the Titans, general manager Ran Carthon and Co. have been active thus far during the NFL free agency tampering period. That includes adding center Lloyd Cushenberry and cornerback Tony Pollard, among others.
