Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa continues to treat opposing offensive linemen as his personal turnstile. The second-year player from Ohio State sacked New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in the first half of Sunday’s game.
In doing so, he made NFL history.
Joey Bosa: 19.0 career sacks (with 1 so far today), most by any player in his first 20 career games since 1982 @Chargers

Bosa now has 8.5 sacks on the season and 19 over the course of his first 20 career games. That breaks the league record, previously set by the currently suspended Aldon Smith.
It’s been an absolutely insane early career for the former Buckeye standout. He’s now done something we have not seen from some of today’s greats, Defensive Players of the Year Von Miller and J.J. Watt included.
With this sack, Bosa is now on pace for north of 17 on the season. He’s just 22 years old and with a lot of football left in those tires. It’s definitely not too early to be talking about the defensive end as a generational talent, much like the conversation that surrounded the aforementioned Watt many years back.
