Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has talked a whole heck of a lot about how his team needs to have playoff success after struggling in this regard over the course of the past near three decades.
For Jones, it’s not about what the team has done in the regular season. It’s all about going deep into the postseason.
The expectation in Big D was that Sunday’s NFC Wild Card Playoff game against the Green Bay Packers would be the start of something special this time around.
Boy, things are not looking good in that regard.
The ‘Boys fell down 27-7 at halftime. It was a complete disaster inside AT&T Stadium in Big D. Dak Prescott threw two interceptions, including a pick-six into the hands of Packers defensive back Darnell Savage.
Prior to that, Packers quarterback Jordan Love hit Dontayvion Wicks on a 20-yard touchdown to give the road team a 20-0 lead.
Jones’ reaction to that touchdown has since gone viral. Check it out.
Notice how Jones turned away from the field of play and seemed to tell someone behind him something at the end of this clip? To by a fly on the wall in that scenario. Is he calling for Bill Belichick already?
It’s clear that Jones is frustrated. It’s also hard to blame him given the disaster we saw in the first half against the rival Packers on Sunday. It will also lead to further speculation about the job security of head coach Mike McCarthy.
“His record speaks for itself. I think what he’s done, the fact that we’ve put ourselves in this position over these last three years, I think that does speak for itself. We’ve got a lot of football left in no small part thanks to Mike, thanks to his staff, and thanks to some really outstanding football players around here. So, we’ll see how each game goes.”

About that? One half into this game, and some wonder whether Jones will fire McCarthy at halftime.

Jones’ frustration during the first half of the game did not go unnoticed by those watching the game. Sure, Dallas scored a touchdown to end the first half.
But facing a three-touchdown deficit at home with your star quarterback struggling is not a sign that a comeback is in the cards.
