Jacksonville Jaguars fans preparing for clown show to protest during season finale

Jacksonville Jaguars fans are fed up. They are done with all of this losing. There’s also one thing we know about diehards in Duval. Don’t piss them off.

With Jacksonville having lost 29 of 32 games since the start of last season, players are now going to face the wrath of these struggles Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.

How? We’re glad you asked. Jacksonville Jaguars fans are actually preparing for a clown party for the season finale inside TIAA Bank Field. That is to say, there’s going to be a large number of fans wearing clown suits to protest Jacksonville’s decision to retain general manager Trent Baalke.

It’s a thing that’s actually happening. And it’s all sorts of epic.

Thousands of Jaguars fans have already changed their social media profile pictures to a clown while donning owner Shad Khan’s famous mustache. Again, this is a thing that’s actually happening.

As we’ve seen in recent years, social media pushes become things in real life. The expectation is that this is going to happen come Sunday against the Colts.

Here’s an organization that just recently fired head coach Urban Meyer after all of 13 games in that role. It represents one of the shortest tenures for a head coach in modern NFL history and came with decades worth of drama.

Meyer could have been sporting a clown suit during his short tenure in Duval and no one would have known the difference.

As for Baalke, he doesn’t have a great track record of success dating back to the veteran front office figure’s days with the San Francisco 49ers. That included a rift with then-49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh and the decision to replace him on the sideline with Jim Tomsula. Yes, this Jim Tomsula.

Jaguars fans are passionate. They want a winner in Duval. They have a potential franchise quarterback in Trevor Lawrence. These fans are also concerned that Baalke will go full clown and ruin Lawrence’s career by joining Khan in hiring another inept head coach.

Regardless, it should be an interesting scene in Jacksonville come Sunday afternoon.
