Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes entered Sunday’s contest against the Washington Football Team having equaled his total number of interceptions (six) from a season ago. In the process, his Chiefs have posted a terribly disappointing 2-3 record.

It didn’t get much better for the former NFL MVP in the first half of Sunday’s game in Maryland. After leading Kansas City on a 10-play, 95-yard drive to open the scoring in the first, Mahomes was picked off by Kendall Fuller in the red zone.

Later in the first half, Patrick Mahomes might have actually put up the worst interception of the young NFL season. That’s not hyperbole.

The Super Bowl winner fumbled the snap from center Creed Humphrey, only to attempt what has to be described as a laughable pass.

What in the world did we just view? Someone needs to get on adding some Benny Hill music to the mix. That’s how bad it was. And it helped Washington take a 13-10 lead into the half as major underdogs against the two-time defending AFC champs.

Through the first 5.5 games of the 2021 season, Mahomes has thrown eight interceptions. He’s now on pace for 25 this year after throwing all of 24 in his first four campaigns. Ouch!
