We’re just hours away from the start of NFL free agency, and one of the biggest questions remaining revolves around the future of Kirk Cousins. The latest updates suggest the Minnesota Vikings are still in negotiations with the four-time Pro Bowl QB, but they know more competition is coming once Monday’s 12 PM ET legal tampering period begins.

So far, the Vikings are believed to be the frontrunners to sign Cousins. Yet, the QB-needy Atlanta Falcons are also circling as a team with plenty of cap space to spend.

However, quarterbacks capable of playing at an elite level like Cousins don’t become available often, which means several other teams could be lurking in the shadows, ready to pounce.

Some anticipated the Denver Broncos to get involved. Now that Russell Wilson is set to join Cousins in free agency, the top internal option in Denver is Jarrett Stidham. Not to mention, Broncos GM George Paton was involved in helping get Cousins to sign with the Vikings in 2018.

However, Dianna Russini’s latest update on Cousins reveals that while the Broncos did discuss signing Cousins, Denver will not pursue the 35-year-old quarterback in free agency.

This indicates Cousins will be either picking between staying in Minnesota, moving to Atlanta, or possibly waiting to see if another sleeper team emerges, and there are plenty of teams with QB vacancies this offseason.
