However, when push comes to shove, Jones often decides to be a bit more conservative at the deadline. But that may change in 2023.

During his weekly appearance on Dallas radio station 105.3 The Fan, the Cowboys boss offered an interesting and exciting opinion on their possible approach to this year’s Halloween trade deadline.

“I would really extend to improve our team right now because I think we have a team that’s a contender,” Jones said.

The Cowboys have a ferocious defense that should give them a strong chance in any playoff matchup. However, with their offense not nearly as effective as it was in 2022, it’s possible they swing a deal to improve their running game for well-known veterans like Dalvin Cook or Derrick Henry before Oct. 31.
