The Indianapolis Colts will never allow another player to wear No. 93, choosing to honor the great Dwight Freeney by retiring his jersey while announcing his retirement from the NFL.

Freeney played for the Colts from his rookie campaign in 2002 (selected No. 11 overall that year by Indianapolis) to 2012, racking up 107.5 sacks in those 11 seasons. He’s the second-leading sack artist in franchise history, behind only Robert Mathis, who played his entire 14-year career for the Colts.
After 2012, Freeney played for the San Diego Chargers, Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks. Over the course of his career, he has accumulated 125.5 sacks.
