Do Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have beef with each other? It’s hard to fathom the idea that the two best players on the Finals-bound Boston Celtics can’t get along with one another, yet that’s been one of the rumors making its way around the basketball discussion tables during the NBA Playoffs.

But Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla doesn’t want to hear it. In fact, Coach Mazzulla has some very strong thoughts on the matter, which he shared on Friday afternoon with local reporters.

“The whole thing about that really pisses me off & I think it’s unfair to both of them. I think it’s stupid that people have to use those two guys’ names and use information that they don’t know to create clickbait so that they can stay relevant. It’s very unfair that those two get compared. They’re two completely different people, two completely different players. They’re great teammates, they love eachother and they go about winning and they go about their process in a different way… They’re two of the greatest teammates and players that you could have, and it’s been an honor to coach both of them. So it’s bull—-.”

If Tatum and Brown do have some sort of issue with each other, they’re doing a very good job of hiding it, helping the Celtics finish with the NBA’s best record, and now are headed to the Finals again for the second time in three seasons. Yet, both Tatum and Brown are still seeking their first NBA Championship, so if there is any internal battle, they’ll have to soldier on in hopes of securing four more wins.
