The Arizona Cardinals got lucky during the 2024 NFL Draft when Marvin Harrison Jr. fell right into their laps with the fourth overall pick. Most times, teams select the best player available. Other times, they’ll find themselves ‘reaching’ to fill a need. Only in this case, MHJ met both criteria, though he was far from a reach.
Now that they have a No. 1 receiver for their franchise quarterback, the Cardinals could double down and find Kyler Murray another weapon to help complement Harrison and Trey McBride. They’ve even already been linked to three former Pro Bowl receivers.

Arizona Cardinals could add a Pro Bowl receiver via trade or free agency

Slowly but surely, the Arizona Cardinals are building a strong foundation. That process will continue this offseason for a team that went 8-9 last season.
One way the Cardinals could take another step forward is by injecting another weapon into the offense, specifically, a No. 2 receiver who would line up opposite Marvin Harrison Jr.
Recently, ESPN’s Dan Graziano threw out a few potential solutions for Arizona this offseason, including three former Pro Bowl wideouts.
“The Cardinals are going to have plenty of cap space and an extremely young wide receiver room, led by 2024 first-round pick Marvin Harrison Jr. I don’t know that they could get someone like Tee Higgins, if Cincinnati even lets Higgins out of the building. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see Arizona spend some of that cap space at that position. The Cardinals could be a landing spot for someone like Davante Adams (if he’s cut), Deebo Samuel Sr. (if he’s cut or traded) or Keenan Allen. They ranked 30th in wide receiver receiving yards last season with 1,859 and could use a boost.”

The Cardinals still have 2023 third-round pick Michael Wilson in development. He’s had back-to-back seasons of over 500 yards, but it may be time to consider roster upgrades just in case he never becomes a more explosive receiver. Any of the three names mentioned above could be wise solutions.
It’s hard to envision Arizona’s NFC West rivals trading Deebo Samuel within the division, yet if he’s cut, having a chance to get back at the San Francisco 49ers could make the Cardinals a prime landing spot.
