Andy Reid ready to ‘let it rip’ in Super Bowl LV

Although Reid was really eager for Super Bowl Sunday to arrive, he preached the importance of staying in the moment, focusing on quality practices and doing all that needs to be done to maximize Kansas City’s chances of victory.

“We gotta take care of some business, make sure we go through the process,” Reid said. “Tampa Bay sure has a good football team, so we’ve got to get ourselves ready to go.”

There are so many storylines going into this epic championship matchup, not least of which is the historic quarterback duel between the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and his legendary counterpart Tom Brady. As Mahomes pursues a second straight title, Brady will be taking aim at his seventh Super Bowl ring.

A record-low number of fans will be in attendance due to the COVID-19 pandemic, yet it’s still worth noting that Kansas City will be the first legitimate road team in Super Bowl history. After the Bucs went on the road to win three playoff games to get out of the NFC, they get to be the first team ever to host the Big Game.

Can Reid and the Chiefs repeat against the GOAT quarterback? Well, Kansas City is favored to win, but it’s unwise to label Brady an underdog. As he’s shown in his past two postseason victories, TB12 can get it done even when his side is being counted out.
