The Golden State Warriors earned their first championship in 40 years, and reserve shooting guard Andre Iguodala was named the 2015 NBA Finals MVP.
Iguodala averaged 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals during the six-game series victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Arizona product tallied 25 points, five assists, five boards and two steals in the Game 6 win.
He hadn’t started a single outing all season until Game 4 of the Finals when Steve Kerr elected to utilize a three-guard, two-small forward lineup. That adjustment changed the series, and Iguodala registered 20.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists after entering the starting unit.
