Aaron Rodgers caught on video confirming his New York Jets return will be very soon

There has been a lot of speculation about when or if Aaron Rodgers will suit up again for the New York Jets in 2023, but the quarterback himself was caught on video in Week 9 confirming his return is imminent.

The Jets have endured a roller-coaster ride in 2023. They started the season with a great deal of hope and expectation that their elite defense, matched with Rodgers’ leadership, could form a legitimate title contender this year.

However, in just four plays those dreams were dashed when he tore his Achilles on his first drive in green. Since then, the team has endured a losing skid, drama in the locker room, and a winning streak all with the backdrop of a possible shocking Rodgers return at some point this season.

Heading into NFL Week 10, the team is 4-4 and trying to hover around the playoff picture in case the unthinkable happens. And in recent weeks, a miracle seems possible with the 39-year-old seemingly way ahead of schedule in his recovery from a major injury.

Yet, walking without crutches and a boot, or throwing the ball around in warm-ups is no indication the future Hall-of-Famer actually can defy the odds to make his NFL comeback this season. However, Rodgers let it slip on Monday that he indeed will be back in 2023, and soon.

Following the Jets’ ugly 27-6 loss on Monday Night Football to the Los Angeles Chargers, Rodgers was caught in a video speaking with Chargers defensive back Derwin James. The three-time Pro Bowler can be heard asking, “When you coming back?” And the quarterback was not cagey in his response and actually admitted — maybe because he didn’t see the camera — “In a few weeks.”

After a winnable game this weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Jets face division rivals the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins in Weeks 11 and 12. Either would be the perfect time for the NFL legend to return and help improve the team’s playoff chances in 2023.

It has only been eight weeks since Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles. An injury that usually requires up to six months to fully recover from.
