The COVID-19 pandemic forced the NFL to cancel its public events for the 2020 NFL Draft and make it a virtual experience. While the decision will prevent top draft prospects from walking the stage in Las Vegas, EA Sports will make sure that everyone at least gets to experience their walk-up moment.
EA Sports is creating a virtual moment for draft prospects that will show them walking out onto the stage to hold up their jersey and embrace commissioner Roger Goodell, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Players will also be given the chance to choose how they want to greet Goodell for their virtual moments.
Of course, it gets even better for these young men living out their dream of being drafted. They will also each be given the chance to donate a $2,500 grant to the high school of their choice to help provide support for the football program.
The NFL will also use the 2020 NFL Draft as a way to raise funds for COVID-19 relief efforts. While the league is still discussing how it will implement the fundraiser, it’s great to see them doing their part to help communities in need.
