Former Packers QB Zeke Bratkowski passes away at 88

The Green Bay Packers and larger NFL world lost a big figure from the past. According to multiple media reports, former Packers quarterback and coach Zeke Bratkowski passed away on Monday at the age of 88.

The cause of death is not yet known. Reports note that he passed away in his Santa Rosa Beach home in Florida.

Bratkowski’s NFL career spanned five decades. A third-round pick of the Chicago Bears in 1953, Bratkowski is bet known for a seven-year stint with the Green Bay Packers that included him helping the team win the first two Super Bowls in NFL history.

The Georgia product finished his NFL career having thrown 65 touchdowns in 132 career games (49 starts).

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Bratkowski would ultimately coach for seven different teams in a career that concluded as a New York Jets assistant back in 1995.
