WATCH: Wisconsin RB Jonathan Taylor comes up clutch with spectacular TD reception

Wisconsin Badgers running back Jonathan Taylor is already considered one of the best players in the country and he came into the 2019 season wanting to prove himself in the passing game. He’s already showing off his new skillset in spectacular fashion in the season opener.

The junior kicked things off early in the first half by turning a screen pass into a 36-yard touchdown reception for the first receiving score of his career. Taylor then took things to another level before halftime by splitting out wide and catching a short pass, then knocking over a defender as he dove into the end zone.

Many already viewed Taylor as a Heisman Trophy contender off his rushing abilities alone. He’s already racked up 4,171 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns in two seasons with the Badgers.

If he can keep being a weapon out of the backfield and add some receiving numbers to his 2,000-plus rushing yards and 15-plus rushing scores, his ticket to New York City for the Heisman ceremony is already booked.
