Bills could cut or trade Pro Bowler LeSean McCoy, per report

Will pending legal troubles hurt LeSean McCoy?

The Buffalo Bills head into training camp with one of the deepest backfields in the NFL after signing ageless wonder Frank Gore and selecting Devin Singletary in the third round of April’s draft.

Add in veterans LeSean McCoy and T.J. Yeldon, and there’s a good chance one of these backs will not make the 53 man roster.

In talking about that, Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported recently that Buffalo could trade or release McCoy this summer.

From Buffalo’s perspective, McCoy would certainly be the one to go. The 31-year-old back is set to count $9.05 million against the cap this season.

He’s coming off a career-worst performance that saw the six-time Pro Bowler record just 514 yards at a clip of 3.2 yards per attempt.

Whether there would be any interest in McCoy on the trade block remains to be seen. If not, the Bills can save north of $6 million by releasing him.
