It’s been a legendary career for Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera and he added to it on Friday with a historic home run to pass an all-time great on the all-time home run list.

In the second inning, Cabrera showed off the vintage swing and sent a towering shot over the right field fence for the 469th home run of his career, passing Hall of Famer Chipper Jones on the all-time list.

The 36-year-old reached the historical mark in his 8,681 at-bat, which also beats Jones’ mark as he reached 468 home runs in 8,984 career at-bats.

Cabrera, a future Hall of Famer, is now just five home runs shy of passing Carlos Delgado (473) to move even further up the list on the all-time list. He could climb as high as 30th on the all-time list this season if he passes Adrian Beltre’s 477 career home runs.
