After he was selected first overall by the Baltimore Orioles in June’s MLB Draft, Adley Rutschman is officially a member of the organization.
It was reported on Monday that Rutschman and the Orioles agreed to a deal which includes a record bonus.
Rutschman had a tremendous career at Oregon State.
In 2018, he helped guide the Beavers to a National Championship. He had a College World Series record 17 hits en route to winning the College World Series MVP Award.
Rutschman backed that up in 2019 when he hit .411/.575/.751 with 17 home runs. He won not only the Pac-12 Player of the Year, but also the Dick Howser Award for the top college player in the United States and the Golden Spikes Award for the best amateur player in the country.
