The San Francisco 49ers used the third overall pick to select defensive end Solomon Thomas out of Stanford just two years ago. Now they’re looking to trade him, per Pro Football Talk.
This isn’t all that surprising. Thomas hasn’t really lived up to the expectations San Francisco had when it drafted him. In two seasons, he has tallied 72 total tackles and just four sacks.
When you factor in the addition of former Kansas City Chiefs pass rusher Dee Ford, and whoever the 49ers select in the first round (likely a defender), Thomas would be the odd man out anyway.
