If Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball is part of the package bringing back Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans, it doesn’ look like Ball will remain in New Orleans.
A previous report noted that Ball prefers to land with the Phoenix Suns. Said report also indicated that interest is mutual in that regard.
In talking about trade rumors surrounding his son, the always boisterous LaVar Ball told ESPN that he wants Lonzo to land with Phoenix if he is indeed traded by the Lakers.
LaVar Ball tells ESPN that if Lonzo Ball is traded, he wants his son to go to Phoenix: “We want to be in LA. But if he’s traded, I don’t want Lonzo in New Orleans. Phoenix is the best fit for him. And I am going to speak it into existence.”

In no way should this be considered a surprise. LaVar has always been outspoken as it relates to his sons. Some may look at him in a negative light, but it’s clear that he’s in Lonzo’s corner here.
As it relates to a potential fit, the Suns do make sense. They have been in search of a young point guard to team up with Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton. It just remains to be seen if Phoenix is willing to offer up the capital it would be needed to be players in a hypothetical three-team trade.
