WATCH: Ravens special teams makes huge play with blocked field goal

Already trailing 12-0 to the Los Angeles Chargers, the Baltimore Ravens needed a big play to avoid falling behind even further. They got it from their special teams.

A long kickoff return from Desmond King set Los Angeles up deep in Baltimore territory. When the drive stalled, Michael Badgley came on to kick his fifth field goal. But Za’Darius Smith got his hand up and blocked the kick.

We’re not sure if the kick would have been good anyway. The hold from Donnie Jones was awkward, which threw everything else off.

Unfortunately for the Ravens, they could not take advantage. Baltimore went three-and-out on the ensuing possession, losing 10 yards in the process. Even still, keeping points off of the board for the Chargers was quite significant.
