Philadelphia Eagles receiver Alshon Jeffery has taken an important step toward getting back onto the field for the defending champs.
On Friday, Jeffery, who had surgery to repair damage to his rotator cuff this offseason, passed his physical and was taken off the PUP list.

This is great news, but it doesn’t mean Jeffery will be ready to play in Week 1. Recently, ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen reported the team’s top receiver is expected to miss the first two games of the season.
Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery is expected to miss at least the first two games of the season, but the team will activate him to the 53-man roster this weekend with optimism he could be back by week 3, per @mortreport and me.

Last year, his first with the Eagles, Jeffery had a productive season. He hauled in 57 passes for 789 yards and nine touchdowns during the regular season, adding another 12 catches for 219 yards and three touchdowns during the team’s Super Bowl run.
The Eagles recently extended Jeffery’s contract, and he’s signed through the 2021 season on this new deal.
