On Wednesday, the Green Bay Packers made Aaron Rodgers an offer he couldn’t refuse, signing him to a record-setting contract extension.
It’s a huge deal that not only keeps him in Green Bay for the foreseeable future, but which also will pay him a staggering amount of money in the next calendar year.
After the news settled and Rodgers had time to reflect a bit, he took to his Instagram account to express his thoughts, thanking his fans and the Packers organization for what’s already happened while looking ahead to the future.
“It’s been an amazing ride the last 13 years; excited to start year 14 knowing that my future is here, in Green Bay, for our 100th season,” Rodgers wrote. “I’ve grown up in this place, and grown older and a little wiser along the way. Thank you to our incredible fan base for inspiring us players to be better year after year. Thank you to the Packers organization for standing by me time and time again and giving me the opportunity to lead this football team. And thank you to my teammates along the way, past and present who have impacted my life in so many positive ways, giving me friendships for life. Looking forward to making some more memorable moments this year, and for years to come….

Since taking over as the full-time starter in Green Bay, Rodgers has been simply spectacular. He’s been the deadliest passer in the league and rarely makes mistakes, and to this point in his career he’s already racked up 38,502 yards and 313 touchdowns at the age of 34.
By the time Rodgers is finished — he hopes to play into his mid-40s — he could potentially break many league records.
