Report: Sixers, Bryan Colangelo have agreed to part ways

Fresh off a surprising trip to the Eastern Conference Semifinals, the Philadelphia 76ers are now going to be on the market for a new general manager.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Sixers and front office head Bryan Colangelo have agreed to part ways.

This comes after Colangelo found himself embroiled in controversy following a report indicating that the veteran general manager used multiple burner Twitter accounts to criticize players and other members of the Sixers’ organization.

The Sixers themselves had launched an investigation, but concluded earlier in the week that they believe Colangelo did not have knowledge of the burner accounts. Whether that changed on Thursday remains to be seen.

Colangelo joined the Sixers in April of 2016 and was responsible for two draft classes that yielded Philadelphia Ben Simmons as well as Markelle Fultz.
