Sixers’ Bryan Colangelo: ‘Someone’s out to get me’

Philadelphia 76ers general manager Bryan Colangelo is still firmly denying a report that he has used multiple burner accounts on Twitter to criticize members of the organization, star center Joel Embiid included.

It’s a whopper of a story. And in reality, the Sixers’ ongoing investigation could potentially cost Colangelo his job. Of course, it’s all dependent on the allegations being proven true.

In talking about the matter once again on Wednesday, Colangelo is out here denying The Ringer’s initial report in every possible way.

Conspiracy theorists have pointed to former Sixers GM Sam Hinkie as potentially being behind the burner accounts. Maybe, Hinkie’s way of getting back at Colangelo after the latter took his job. Remember, Sam Hinkie is largely credited with rebuilding the previously downtrodden Philadelphia-based franchise.

While no one really knows what’s happening here, it’s rather clear Colangelo thinks someone is out to get him. Who that might be is anyone’s best guess.

But this drama has certainly filled the NBA world with news leading up to the start of Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Finals on Thursday. Whether it costs Colangelo his job remains to be seen.
