Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson will miss the second half of the 2017 season due to an ACL injury suffered on Thursday in practice. The rookie signal caller has received a ton of support from his peers around the NFL, and from his old college coach, Dabo Swinney.
On Friday, Watson sent out a message to his fans. He said he feels like he let everyone down but vowed to come back stronger than ever.

The NFL is a brutal business. Watson was just days removed from engineering one of the best performances by any quarterback in Seattle the past decade. He leads the NFL in touchdown passes (tied with Carson Wentz), despite not even starting the season as the lead man for Houston. He’s already put himself in the Pro Football Hall of Fame by doing things no other rookie has ever done, and he was on his way to shattering rookie records for a season before Thursday’s injury.
That said, given the support he has and the obvious determination within himself to overcome this setback, we expect Watson to come back stronger than ever in 2018. Get well soon, young man.
