The Los Angeles Chargers jumped out to an early lead over the New England Patriots Sunday, thanks to a monster run by Melvin Gordon.
Taking the ball from Philip Rivers in a shotgun formation, Gordon shot through the line of scrimmage like he was literally fired out of a shotgun and sprinted 87 yards for the score.

Melvin Gordon’s 87-yard TD matches the longest run in Chargers
history (Paul Lowe, 87 yd-run in Wk 1, 1961 vs Hank Stram’s Dallas Texans)— NFL Research (@NFLResearch) October 29, 2017
New England’s defense has been a huge problem all year long. Early on, it looks like Tom Brady and his offense will have to have a stellar game to win at home.
