The Miami Dolphins got some terrific news on the Ryan Tannehill injury front Monday morning. Rather than an ACL tear, which was what was feared to be the case, the quarterback is dealing with an ACL and MCL sprain, Adam Gase told reporters.

Even better, Tannehill does not appear to need surgery to repair the damage.

Gase also said he is not sure if Tannehill could return to the team or not this year. Chances will certainly get better he could return if Miami gets into the playoffs, extending its season.
Tannehill was coming on very strong for the Dolphins before getting injured. On the season, he has completed 67.1 percent of his passes for 2,995 yards with 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, helping lead Miami to an 8-5 record and a potential playoff berth.
Miami has games remaining against the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills (away) and New England Patriots at home. For as long as Tannehill remains out, backup Matt Moore will be a solid backup who can continue helping the team win games.
