Ravens place RB Danny Woodhead on injured reserve

Danny Woodhead will miss at least the next month.

In a move many expected, the Baltimore Ravens have placed veteran running back Danny Woodhead on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.

Woodhead suffered said injury in the first quarter of his Ravens debut Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals and had to be carted off the field. This comes after the then San Diego Chargers’ running back missed all but two games with a torn ACL last season. He wa also dealing with a separate hamstring injury during the preseason with Baltimore.

The good news here is that Woodhead is eligible to return after eight weeks. Should Baltimore’s defense continue the domination we saw in Week 1’s shutout win over the Bengals, it could be a boon for the team’s division title aspirations down the stretch.

In a related move, Baltimore also signed former Chicago Bears fifth-round pick Jeremy Langford off its practice squad. Langford was waived  by the Bears prior to Week 1 after putting up 1,158 total yards in two seasons in the Windy City.
