Panthers Pro Bowl TE Greg Olsen has broken foot

Greg Olsen Carolina Panthers

Despite seeing his team move to 2-0 on the season, Sunday most definitely wasn’t a good day for Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen.

The Pro Bowl tight end exited the game with what was being described as a foot injury. Shortly thereafter, he was seen on the sideline with a walking boot and holding crutches (more on that here).

Unfortunately for Olsen and his Panthers, the tight end told reporters following the game that he suffered a broken foot.

Obviously, this is going to be a long-term injury for a player in Olsen who has recorded three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. It’s also going to hurt former MVP quarterback Cam Newton, who himself briefly exited Sunday’s win over Buffalo after being sacked for a sixth time in the game.

For his part, Olsen will see a doctor on Monday before ultimately deciding what the next step in the process is going to be.

Even then, it’s hard to imagine him returning any time soon. Further updates will be available during the week.
